3. We selected Facebook.
Facebook is a social networking website that was founded in February 2004 by Harvard University students Chris Hughes, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, and Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook's original concept was to give college students access to an online "book of faces" where they could interact and exchange knowledge. It started as a social network just for Harvard students, but it later opened up to all universities. In the end, it developed into a global social network accessible to all users.

Facebook is just one of the tools used by Meta. Facebook paid $1 billion to acquire Instagram, a social networking platform, in 2012. After thereafter, in 2014, Facebook paid $19 billion to acquire WhatsApp. Later, Facebook entered the virtual reality (VR) hardware market when it paid $2 billion to acquire Oculus VR in 2014. The goal of Meta is to establish and facilitate the metaverse. In order to generate new kinds of user interactions and experiences, this would combine social networking, virtual reality, and augmented reality components.

We chose Facebook because we all already had an account on this social network and knew how to utilize it. Furthermore, many people use this platform, so we consider it an excellent way of connecting with many people. It also offers a mobile phone version, which facilitates its use.

I think virtual learning communities are very useful for learning about different topics and sharing knowledge and thoughts about them with other people. Furthermore, these communities allow us to connect with people, no matter their geographical location. It is a method for learning, interacting, and communicating with people interested in the same topic as you.
